If you have never tried SKïP before, you might have one fairly obvious question.
What does it actually taste like?
Because cold-pressed CBD, Lion’s Mane or magnesium may be what first makes you curious about the can.
But flavour is what makes you want another one.
That has always mattered to us.
SKïP was created as a drink first. Something cold, refreshing and easy to reach for, with fruit and botanical flavours that have enough going on to feel interesting while still feeling easy to enjoy as an everyday drink.
The cold-pressed CBD range comes in Elderflower & Mint, Lemon & Basil and Peach & Ginger.
The Lion’s Mane range gives you Cloudy Apple and Blood Orange.
And our new magnesium range adds Kiwi & Lime and Berry & Cherry.
They are all quite different.
Some are light and floral. Some are citrus-led. Some have a little warmth. Some feel immediately familiar. The magnesium drinks add two more fruit-led directions: one bright and tropical, the other richer and berry-led.
Combinations such as Lemon & Basil, Elderflower & Mint or Kiwi & Lime may feel less unusual than they would have a few years ago.
For us, though, it still comes back to something much simpler.

What Does SKïP Taste Like?
The simplest answer is that the flavour written on the can should be what leads.
That might sound obvious.
If you pick up Elderflower & Mint, the experience should be floral, fresh and minty.
If you open Peach & Ginger, you should notice the peach and that little bit of ginger warmth.
Cloudy Apple should taste, first and foremost, like an apple drink.
And if you choose Kiwi & Lime, you should notice bright kiwi, zesty lime and a little tropical fruit.
This is cleaner because it doesn't take a position on whether flavour or functionality should matter more; it simply answers what SKÏP tastes like.
Does SKïP Taste Like CBD or Hemp?
This is probably one of the biggest questions for someone trying a CBD drink for the first time.
And understandably so.
CBD drinks can come with an assumption that they will taste very herbal, earthy or obviously like hemp.
With SKïP, we wanted the fruit and botanicals to do the talking.
Customers have noticed that too. Reviews on the SKïP CBD range describe the drinks as floral, light and refreshing, with one verified customer specifically noting that they did not get the herbal CBD taste they usually dislike.
Taste will always be personal.
Someone may notice the basil more than you do.
You may love ginger while somebody else heads straight for elderflower.
That is part of having seven genuinely different flavours.
We wanted it to be a drink you would choose for the flavour, with the CBD adding another layer of interest.
The drink has to stand on its own.

What Does Elderflower & Mint Taste Like?
Elderflower & Mint is the light, floral one.
The elderflower brings that familiar delicate flavour, while mint gives it a fresher edge.
There is apple and grape juice in the recipe too, alongside botanical extracts including chamomile, mint, green tea and lemon balm.
-
It is crisp.
-
Fresh.
-
And very easy to imagine properly chilled on a summer afternoon.
It also works when you want something that feels a little more considered without becoming complicated.
Lunch outside. Friends round.
An afternoon at your desk.
Dinner when you fancy something cold in a nice glass.
If you already like elderflower drinks, this is probably a very natural place to start.
What Does Lemon & Basil Taste Like?
Lemon & Basil is brighter.
You get the familiar freshness of lemon, followed by the more herbal character of basil.
And it is the basil that makes the flavour interesting.
Without it, you would have just another citrus drink. With it, the flavour feels more distinctive.
The recipe includes grape and lemon juices, with lemon making up 6% of the drink, alongside botanical extracts and natural basil flavour.
It is fresh enough to work with lunch.
Crisp enough for an afternoon drink.
And the basil gives it enough character to work nicely over ice too.
Familiar ingredients. Just put together in a slightly less obvious way.
What Does Peach & Ginger Taste Like?
Peach & Ginger has a little more warmth.
The peach brings the fruitiness. The ginger gives it a gentle kick.
The recipe contains grape and peach juices, with peach making up 8% of the drink, alongside botanical extracts including ginger, chamomile, green tea, lemon balm and turmeric.
It is probably the one to try if you naturally gravitate towards fruitier flavours but still want something with a bit more character.
And if you are wondering when to drink it, we would not overthink that either.
Peach & Ginger works particularly well with food, especially BBQ dishes, salads and roasted flavours.
Sometimes that is all the pairing advice you need.
What Do the Lion’s Mane Drinks Taste Like?
The Lion’s Mane range takes us into two very familiar fruit flavours:
Cloudy Apple and Blood Orange.
Cloudy Apple is crisp and easy-going.
It has been described as naturally refreshing, gently sweet and lightly sparkling, with cloudy apple juice leading the flavour.
Its familiar apple profile can make it an easy place to start if you are new to Lion’s Mane drinks.
Blood Orange is brighter and more citrus-led.
It combines juicy blood orange with delicate bubbles and a subtle tart finish.
If Cloudy Apple feels softer and more familiar, Blood Orange has a little more sharpness.
Most importantly, neither drink was created with Lion’s Mane as the main flavour.
The same principle applies here as it does across the CBD range: the functional ingredient is part of what makes the drink interesting, while the fruit is what you are actually sitting down to enjoy.
What Do the Magnesium Drinks Taste Like?
The magnesium range adds two more fruit-led options:
Kiwi & Lime and Berry & Cherry.
Kiwi & Lime is the brighter of the two.
It leads with juicy kiwi and zesty lime, with a hint of pineapple giving it a slightly more tropical finish. The recipe contains apple and kiwi juice alongside pineapple purée, creating something crisp, fresh and fruit-forward rather than a straightforward lime drink.
This is the one to try if you tend to choose sharper citrus or tropical flavours.
-
A midday break.
-
Something cold after movement.
-
A warm afternoon.
-
Or simply the moment when citrus sounds better than anything floral or sweet.
Berry & Cherry goes in a richer direction.
It combines sweet cherry with blackcurrant, raspberry, strawberry and other red-fruit notes. The result is fuller and more berry-led than Kiwi & Lime, while still keeping the lightly sparkling finish that runs through the range.
If sour cherry, blackcurrant or mixed-berry drinks already sound like your thing, this may be the more natural place to begin.
Both magnesium cans contain 188mg of magnesium alongside vitamins B6 and D, and both are designed to be served properly chilled.

Which Flavour Should I Try First?
Start with what you already like.
Honestly, it can be that simple.
The other question is which functional range interests you.
The CBD range comes in Elderflower & Mint, Lemon & Basil and Peach & Ginger. Cloudy Apple and Blood Orange contain Lion’s Mane, while Kiwi & Lime and Berry & Cherry contain magnesium alongside vitamins B6 and D.
Once you have chosen the range that sounds right, let flavour make the final decision.
Why Do the Botanical and Fruit Combinations Matter?
Because we wanted SKïP to have some depth. Proper flavour.
Something you would be genuinely happy to pour into a nice glass at dinner, while still being easy enough to open straight from the fridge on a Tuesday afternoon.
The combinations are a big part of that.
-
Mint gives elderflower a fresher edge.
-
Basil makes lemon more interesting.
-
Ginger gives peach that little bit of warmth.
-
Pineapple softens the sharper kiwi and lime.
-
Blackcurrant and red fruits give cherry a richer finish.
That feels particularly relevant as British tastes continue to broaden. Mintel’s UK flavour research highlights growing interest in less-sweet, bolder and more complex drinks, including botanical, floral and sour flavour directions.
We wanted SKÏP to feel like a proper choice in its own right.
It should have its own story. And flavour is a big part of that.
Are SKïP Drinks Sweet?
There is sweetness there, but we have never wanted sweetness to be the whole flavour.
Across the range, fruit is balanced with floral, herbal, citrus, warming or sharper notes, depending on the can.
British Soft Drinks Association figures show that 71.4% of soft drinks sold in the UK in 2025 were low/no calorie, compared with 22% classified as regular and 6.6% as mid-calorie.
With SKïP, we would rather let the fruit and flavour combinations do the interesting bit.
Flavour First, Function Alongside It
There are lots of conversations we can have about cold-pressed CBD, Lion’s Mane and magnesium.
-
How they are made.
-
Why we chose them.
-
When people reach for them.
But when someone opens their first SKïP, there is a much simpler question: Do you actually like drinking it?
That matters because SKïP is made for moments you already have.
-
Lunch.
-
The afternoon at your desk.
-
Dinner.
-
Something cold after movement.
-
Friends coming round.
-
A summer evening outside.
-
Or simply opening the fridge and deciding you fancy one.
CBD, Lion’s Mane and magnesium give the three ranges their own functional direction.
Elderflower, citrus, peach, apple, kiwi, cherry and berries are what make choosing your next can personal.
The ingredient may make you curious. The flavour is usually what decides whether you open another one.
FAQs
Are SKïP Drinks Sweet?
Yes, there is sweetness, but each flavour handles it differently. Elderflower & Mint feels lighter and more floral. Lemon & Basil has a brighter citrus and herbal profile. Peach & Ginger is fruitier with warmth behind it. Kiwi & Lime is sharper, while Berry & Cherry is richer and more berry-led. The easiest way to find your flavour is to start with the drinks you already enjoy.
Does SKïP Have Any Sweeteners?
Yes. The current CBD and magnesium recipes use steviol glycosides from stevia as a sweetener and erythritol as a flavour enhancer, but they contain 0g of added sugar.
Is SKïP Fizzy?
Yes. The SKïP drinks covered here are lightly sparkling, giving the fruit and botanical flavours a gentle fizz. They are best served properly chilled.
Does SKïP Taste Like a Wellness Drink?
That depends on what you think a wellness drink tastes like. We would rather describe SKÏP by what is actually in front of you: recognisable fruit flavours, botanicals and a drink designed to taste good, with cold-pressed CBD, Lion’s Mane or magnesium adding the functional side. Aside from following the recommended intake guidelines, you do not need to approach it like a supplement. Open it cold and enjoy it like a drink.
Are the Lion’s Mane Drinks Earthy or Mushroomy?
They are designed around Cloudy Apple and Blood Orange, rather than making Lion’s Mane the dominant taste. Cloudy Apple is crisp and gently sweet, while Blood Orange is brighter with a subtle tart finish.
Are the Flavours Strong Enough to Mix Into Mocktails?
They can work really nicely in a glass with ice, garnish or as part of a simple mixed serve. Lemon & Basil already gives you citrus and herbs. Peach & Ginger gives you fruit and spice. Elderflower & Mint gives you floral and fresh notes. Kiwi & Lime could work with extra citrus or tropical fruit, while Berry & Cherry gives you a strong red-fruit base. But you do not need to turn SKïP into something else for it to feel considered. Sometimes a cold can and a nice glass are plenty.
Which Is the Most Popular SKïP Flavour?
Taste is always personal, but Elderflower & Mint CBD has been a fan favourite for a while. It also received a Great Taste Award, so we can see why it has become such a popular choice.
