What is in a drink matters.
A lot of our customers are already quite deliberate about what they eat and drink, and more aware of how much alcohol they are drinking. That might mean drinking less, not drinking at all, or simply being a little more deliberate about what they put into their bodies.
For plenty of people, reading the label is a habit rather than an afterthought.
Dietary considerations were built into the drinks from day one. Being vegan-friendly and having no added sugar across the range were part of the original formulation brief, rather than something added later.
-
We wanted real fruit.
-
We wanted interesting flavours.
-
And we wanted functional ingredients such as cold-pressed CBD, Lion’s Mane and magnesium to sit within drinks people would genuinely want to open.
The result is a fruit-led, lightly sparkling range that is relatively low in calories too.
That is useful, but it was never the reason we started making the drinks.
Key Takeaways
-
SKïP was designed with different dietary preferences in mind from the beginning.
-
The SKïP range is vegan-friendly and has no added sugar.
-
The cold-pressed CBD drinks are labelled gluten-free.
-
Low calorie is a result of how SKïP is formulated rather than the reason we created it.
-
Sweetener use varies by range, so no added sugar and no sweeteners are not the same thing.
Is SKïP Vegan?
Yes. The SKïP range is vegan-friendly.
If you follow a vegan diet, knowing whether a drink fits the way you eat should be easy.
Once you know that, you can get back to the more enjoyable decision.
-
Elderflower & Mint or Peach & Ginger?
-
Cloudy Apple or Blood Orange?
-
Kiwi & Lime or Berry & Cherry?
Vegan-friendly is useful to know. After that, it is really about which can you fancy.
Is SKïP Gluten-Free?
Our cold-pressed CBD drinks are labelled gluten-free.
That includes Elderflower & Mint, Lemon & Basil and Peach & Ginger.
So for the CBD range, the answer is straightforward.
If you have coeliac disease or a diagnosed intolerance, remember to always check the allergen information for the particular product you are drinking. If you need any further reassurance, feel free to reach out to the SKÏP team.
Is SKïP Low Calorie?
Yes. SKïP is a relatively low-calorie drinks range.
But low calorie was never the goal.
We wanted something you could genuinely grab whenever you fancied one, without turning it into a big decision.
We wanted flavour, function and something that felt easy to enjoy as part of everyday life.
Keeping unnecessary extras out of the formulation naturally helped keep the calories relatively low.
So low-calorie is really a result of building the drink that way.
That also fits with the way soft drinks are changing more widely in the UK. British Soft Drinks Association figures show that 71.4% of soft drinks sold in the UK in 2025 were low/no calorie, compared with 22% regular and 6.6% mid-calorie.
For us, though, there should still be something interesting going on in the glass.
Does SKïP Have Any Added Sugar?
No. SKÏP has no added sugar across the range.
We use real fruit, so naturally occurring sugars come with it. What we don’t do is add extra sugar; every can contains 0g of added sugar.
In the CBD range, Peach & Ginger contains grape and peach juices. Lemon & Basil contains grape and lemon, while Elderflower & Mint contains apple and grape.
That real fruit is part of how we get the flavour we want.
Getting real flavour from real ingredients without leaning on added sugar takes more thought in the formulation, but that matters to us.
We want what is written on the front of the can to actually come through when you drink it.
Why Does SKïP Use Real Fruit and Botanicals?
Because flavour matters.
Real fruit gives the drinks a familiar starting point, while the botanicals make things a little more interesting.
-
Mint gives elderflower a fresher edge.
-
Basil gives lemon something beyond straightforward citrus.
-
Ginger brings a little warmth to the peach.
Those combinations give the drinks a little more depth. They feel grown-up and considered while still being easy to enjoy.
The same thinking runs through the other ranges.
Cloudy Apple and Blood Orange keep the Lion’s Mane drinks firmly fruit-led, while Kiwi & Lime and Berry & Cherry take the magnesium range in two quite different directions.
Made with flavours you crave and a feeling you’ll come back for.
What Goes Into a SKïP Drink?
The exact recipe changes depending on the range and flavour, but the thinking behind it is fairly simple.
|
Part of the drink |
What it brings |
|
Real fruit |
Familiar fruit flavour and naturally occurring sugars |
|
Botanicals |
Fresh, herbal or warmer flavour notes |
|
Light sparkle |
A refreshing, ready-to-drink finish |
|
Functional ingredient |
Cold-pressed CBD, Lion’s Mane or magnesium, depending on the range |
|
Sweetness |
Helps balance the fruit and other flavours without added sugar |
Each range has its own functional ingredient.
Magnesium gets plenty of questions because people have often heard of it, but want to understand why it is there.
Cold-pressed CBD brings a different kind of curiosity, particularly around what cold-pressed means, how the CBD is sourced, and the standards behind it.
And Lion’s Mane tends to raise the most eyebrows. People want to know what it actually is and, fairly quickly after that, what a mushroom is doing in a drink.
We quite like that curiosity. It gives people another reason to pick up the can and find out more.
Does SKïP Contain Sweeteners?
Yes. SKïP recipes can contain sweeteners, which is different from having added sugar.
The current CBD recipes use steviol glycosides from stevia as a sweetener, with erythritol listed as a flavour enhancer.
Cloudy Apple and Blood Orange also use steviol glycosides from stevia and erythritol in their current recipes.
The magnesium drinks are described as containing no artificial sweeteners.
So the useful distinction is simple.
No added sugar and no sweeteners are not the same thing.
SKïP has no added sugar across the range, while the recipes use sweetness differently depending on the drink.
What Makes SKïP Different From a Standard Fizzy Drink?
For us, the difference is that SKïP was built around flavour and function together.
A lot of traditional soft drinks are built primarily around taste. With SKïP, we wanted flavour and function to sit together.
The fruit and botanicals are there to make sure the drink still feels grown-up, interesting and genuinely enjoyable.
That is what makes it feel more considered to us.

Is SKïP Suitable for Diabetics?
If you monitor sugar or carbohydrates as part of managing diabetes, use the nutritional information for the particular drink and consider how it fits into your own diet.
Across the range, when considering adding any of the functional ingredients into your routine, make sure to speak to a healthcare professional if you take medication or manage a health condition.
No added sugar is useful information.
It is not the same thing as saying a drink will be suitable for every person with diabetes. As always, if you’re unsure, consult a healthcare professional.
A Considered Drink Should Still Be a Drink
All of those choices come back to the kind of drink we wanted SKïP to be.
Vegan-friendly, no added sugar, real fruit, botanicals and functional ingredients were all part of building the kind of drink we wanted to make.
But once all of that is sorted, there is still one fairly important test.
Do you actually want to drink it?
That is why flavour still matters so much to us.
The ingredient might be what first catches your attention.
Knowing what is in it might make the choice easier.
After that, it should be pretty simple.
Pick the range that interests you.
Choose the flavour you fancy.
Get it properly cold.
And enjoy the actual drink.
